Raindrop falling on my window12/24/2023 We were abseiling down a limestone wall, so it was reaally slippery. We never expected that 10m to be soooo difficult. Having abseiled the previous day, all of us were so confident. Initially, we had to abseil down into the cave entry. The next day, we went to the next attraction in Blue Mountains: Jenolan Caves. There's an overhang where I get to just lower myself down while sitting in the harness. I've got all sorts of sore muscles after all that climbing. We did twice for each height other than 60m, which we did 3 times. if you want to repeat, you have to climb all the way up AGAIN. Got a few bruises but the experience was wonderful. and finally we challenged ourselves to jumping + spinning 360deg on the rope. Initially we climbed down, then we experimented with jumping. We actually wanted to go canyoning instead but probably the weather wasn't the best since there's swimming involved. We challenged a couple of cliffs, 5m, 15m, 30m and 60m. I thought it was gonna be like really ulu or something with nothing around. The guys were complaining so much about it cos it was considered a downgrade to them. Initially, there were issues with the Toyota and Thrifty (the car rental company) decides to give us an upgrade.to a Hyundai i30. Oh yea, I was driving a Toyota Corolla Hatchback. It was a long drive and it was tiring considering that I didn't sleep much the previous night. We drove from the city to Blue Mountains. We went to Blue Mountains the first day we reached Sydney. I went there with Faezah, Justin and Lai. How I wish blogger had an easier way to upload photos.Īnyway here's my Sydney trip blog post while I'm procrastinating whether to start on my assignment. Turned out a bit watery as well because I added milk even though I'm not really supposed to. Kinda burnt on the top because I didn't cover with aluminium foil. I added potatoes, spinach and corn in the quiche. I also had my first attempt at making quiche! It's this cheese + egg baked dish. The throat was sore for a week and I got a temporary pyrexia couple of days ago. Didn't know why but I probably caught a cold. I guess that's when my ski trip became more interesting =DĪnd yes, after that day, I got sick. I found a less steep path later, which was pretty much invisible cos it was hidden at the side. I crashed and rolled =D haha! it was so much fun I climbed up the slope again and skiied down again. I spent some time figuring out to brake and i eventually did =D I was quite happy, so I just went for the biggest slope ever for the beginner and skiied down (slowly of course). I thought, it's either we ski down the slope to the bottom of the hill or get stuck in the middle of nowhere (our learning spot was like.in the middle of the main ski slope). Also, if there's going to be vulnerable kids learning in an area which is for the general public anyway, put up signs telling people to be more cautious or something!! They should kinda allocate areas for beginners like us to practise our skills and recommend areas we can proceed to when we're slightly more confident of our skills. Sheeeesh!! give us signs to tell us where to go or something instead of reprimanding us! Those instructors didn't even bother to help us up. However, instructors in that area were very pissed with noobs like us because we didn't know how to brake properly and started crashing into kids learning how to ski in that same area. We didn't know where to go, so we attempted a slope that looked less steep nearby. Now, I don't sound very pleased with the ski trip's experience. We haven't mastered anything ie braking and turning and our instructor was more than happy to leave us and dump us there. It takes a whole lot of effort to walk with those ski boots, and we have to carry the super duper heavy skis up a steep slope to where the learning area was. But, we wasted so much time trying to get our ski equipment and we were extremely late for the lesson. We were completely lost and didn't know where to go to get our equipments. ![]() However, our bus guide was extremely disorganised and didn't take long to lose us (Yes, she lost us). ![]() Lol the motivation to go skiing.īy the time we got there, it was about 10am. There were like tons of people (predominantly asians, with very familiar accents) before 6am at Swanston St. In the wee hours in the morning, we took a cab down from Bundoora to the city where the travel agent was. So, I went Mt Buller again this winter to try skiing and I absolutely loved it! Went previously with Jaey and Hy but didn't have enough time to ski.
